  • About the Work: Daniel Senise's work is a combination of iconography and complex background which results in paintings that are both abstractions and figurations. The iconography in Senise's pieces is enigmatic, cryptic and non-narrative, as in the case of Tower of Song / Torre de canción, a painting of death and mourning where one of the most significant elements is a crown of thorns floating on top of what seems like a mountain landscape or a desert dune, with the epitaph “dedicado a Leo” (dedicated to Leo), a friend who died the same year the painting was made.
