The Gaston Manufacturing Company of Cincinnati is probably best known as the manufacturer of the Changeable Charlie block puzzle. Every block has six sides, so every portion of Charlie's face (composed of the blocks) can be changed six different ways. In 1951 Gaston produced a version of its block puzzle which featured the two stars of one of the longest running comic strips, "Blondie."Here the title heroine and her often-klutzy husband Dagwood can be changed to suit a player's whims. The couple's children, dogs, and Dagwood's boss Mr. Dithers are also featured on the changeable blocks.
