The popular Japanese toy manufacturing company TOMY was founded in 1924 as Tomiyama. It is widely known for its production of electronic toys and games, and in the 1980s, it produced a lineup of robots, one of which was Spotbot, a robot that resembled an electronic canine. The bump-and-go Fido wags his tail and chases it, he shakes his head, and makes squeaky, undog like sounds. But he is adorable, nonetheless.
