Train Travelling Through Snow

The line is 300 metres above sea level and the snow drifted up to 15 metres high. The locomotive has a snowplough attached to the front of it, clearing the snow as it travels along the track.

Snowploughs were often used on the Highland Railway as weather conditions like this is common in Northern Scotland during the winter months.
