The traditional women attire from the 19th and early 20th century in the Cesar region is composed by a wide cotton skirt with lace decorations, a blouse with flowery design and kerchief worn on the head.
Kerchiefs and their use in Colombia have its origins on Spanish and Moorish culture. In New Granada, kerchiefs and other head pieces were popular in woman’s clothing and was in big demand with different manufactory techniques and materials; reflecting the status of woman who worn them.
