The first work presented by the artist, and the largest, with its two meters high, bears the title of "TransPort", majestic and imposing stork carrying a baby in swaddling clothes; to remain consistent with what was said above about the fundamental role of the title in the works of this artist, you can not help but notice the value of guidance to the meaning of the work that, also in this case, the title features, revealing allusive clarifier and at the same time.
The term "TransPort" offers two interpretations, which belong to two different levels of meaning: the first key, literally understood, refers to similarity to the artistic movement that has among its ranks the critic Achille Bonito Oliva and artists Enzo Cucchi Francesco Clemente, Mimmo Paladino, Sandro Chia and Nicola De Maria.
The second meaning is the one that links the term Trans (vanguard) sexuality double, from hermaphrodite child with male sex organ, but also feminine attributes (breasts) that appear on his little chest. This time, however, the stork has confused ideas, the strip of sheet that surrounds the baby is half pink and half blue, just in support of indecision about the sexuality of the child.
The work deals with actually a current problem, that of the integration of diversity, acceptance of people who, from birth, they do not feel comfortable with the their sexuality, one given to him by nature, and are in search of its own perpetual identity.
Carmelo Leone wants to scratch then this veil of indifference to a category of people, which too often has been identified, perhaps because of religious precepts, as unholy or unclean.
