Transportation of the wounded Garibaldi on Aspromonte

After unification, Garibaldi tried several times to force the government into occupying the territories not yet annexed: during one of those attempts, on the Aspromonte, in Calabria, his volunteers were stopped in battle by the Italian army on August 29th 1862. Garibaldi himself was wounded and taken prisoner, which caused widespread outrage.
