The russet leather-covered identification document enabled M. De La Montanga to travel for free on trains, boats, and coaches in performance of his postal duties. Special Agent De La Montanga journeyed through several western states between 1900 and 1910 to investigate petitions for the establishment of rural delivery routes. Valid for one year, the travel commission was stamped “Void” and “Expired” after 1902.
