Settlement made by Antonio de Acevedo, ambassador of Portugal, on the deal with the Maluku Islands celebrated in Zaragoza on April 17, 1529, with the following gentlemen being present: Mercurinus de Gattinara, and Conde de Gattinara, Grand Chancellor, don friar García de Loaísa, bishop of Osma, confessor of the King, don friar García de Padilla, senior commander of the Order of Calatrava, the full Council. This settlement was authorized by Francisco de los Cobos, secretary to His Majesty.

It accompanies the settlement, agreement, and definitive contract made by the Kings of Spain and the King of Portugal on the ownership and possession of the islands and lands of the Maluku Islands. Zaragoza, April 22, 1529. Chapter 13 of this settlement states that the agreements made by the Catholic Kings and don Juan II, King of Portugal, in 1494, on the demarcation of the Ocean Sea, remain valid and in force, etc.

According to this settlement, the Emperor ceded the rights it had and had acquired with the discoveries made by the Spanish of the islands and lands of the Maluku Islands, and yields neither to navigate nor to trade there in exchange for 350,000 gold ducats. This document is included in a dispute by the German Fugger family, following His Majesty's fiscal, regarding the collection of 10,000 ducats given for the priming of the armada of Ferdinand Magellan.
