Unearthed in the construction site of Yangzhou College of Education in 1985, this cuboid-shaped pillow has a slightly curved face, on which there are a pair of carved butterflies flying toward the same direction inside a rectangular frame composed of fallen-in lines. The main body of the pillow features a rhino lying on its stomach, with its four limbs bending beneath and its tail resting beside the body. With outstanding eyes, a big nose, a broad mouth, two small ears, a short but thick neck, a small horn on the nose and a large one on the head, this rhino is embellished with fish-scale motifs all over its body except the head which features carved lines as hair. The piece is covered all over with naturally eye-catching glaze in three colors, yellow, green and brown glaze. The solid ochre pottery body is exposed on the base, on which there are also traces of three pin holes created by the support pins when being baked.
