Guangzhou Museum
Guangzhou, China

The golden tripod has cloud-flower-shaped ears, a round bottom, and three animal-headed column feet. There is a square seal with the words "Made in the Qianlong Period" on the bottom of the belly, and a green jadeite is embedded on the top of the lid. The shape is elegant, and has a royal style. As an important port for trade with Europe and America, Guangzhou was the first to come into contact with Western enamel production technology, which was absorbed and innovated by Guangzhou craftsmen and became a unique skill of the Imperial Household Department. The tripod uses the champlevé enamel technique to etch cloud and bat patterns and characters, which means "great fortune and longevity". It is exquisite and gorgeous, representing the ingenuity of design and exquisite craftsmanship of Guangzhou craftsmen during the Qianlong period.
