This work shows the envoy of the Turkish Embassy to Naples on August 30 1741. Represented is the Turkish envoy Hagi Hussein Effendi, who is meeting with Carlos VII of Naples (future Carlos III of Spain) (1716-1788). The meeting was organised as part of the wider Peace Treaty negotiations.

It is a replica of the artwork by Giuseppe Bonito (1707-1789), currently in the Museo del Prado whom also painted an identical work for the Royal Palace of Naples. Upon the death of King D. Luis, the artwork was inherited by D. Carlos I.
