Both an ode to the repertoire of Alberta Ballet and the great-outdoors, this tutu features a combination of materials from production costumes and familiar elements from western Canadian nature. In addition to highlights from the Albertan landscape, Pamela attached braided ribbons from Edmund Stripe’s The Nutcracker, jewels from Jean Grand-Maître’s Love Lies Bleeding, and green and blue tulle from Joni Mitchell’s The Fiddle and the Drum.
Alberta Ballet, a not-for-profit charitable organization, is Canada’s third largest dance company and is in its 45th season. Alberta Ballet has developed a distinctive repertoire and performance quality that has brought it to the forefront of both its home and international stages.
Pamela Kaye graduated from California State University in Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts. Kaye has designed a number of ballets for the company including The Fiddle and the Drum.
