Young couple eating Miyan Karkashi soup with Tuwo Masara dough. Tuwa Masara is a stiff dough made with corn flour. Corn grains are ground in a grinding mill and seived into a smooth flour. The corn flour is added to boiling water, while kneading simultaneously with a wooden baton till it becomes a smooth doughy staple, served as part of a meal with various soups and sauces. Some of these include Miyan Karkashi soup among others. Customarily, when this kind of stiff dough or porridge is served, a small bowl of water is provided for individuals to wash hands before and after eating.
