Two Cranes on the Fairy Island by Zhu Da

Qing Dynasty. This painting presents up the scenery of bare hill, high cliff, dry pines, tranquil and lonely landscape, which are the expression of author's depression mood due to the falling of Ming Dynasty. This painting is one of his masterpieces in his late years. At the upper part of painting, it is inscribed with:"Wrote by Eight Famous Scholars", followed by seals:"Ge Shan" and "KeWei Shen Xian".
