Tyer Wind is a wind-powered generator that mimics the wing-movement of a hummingbird. The design allows the wings to capture wind and generate electricity on both its upward and downward movement. It is capable of producing power efficiently in terms of not using the costly blades of the standard turbine-fin designs. The Saphonian was designed by inspiration from a sailboat powered by wind. The finless wind-power generator attained a patent in Tunisia, 2010, and subsequently an international patent in March 2015.
