Radio broadcasting was initially more of a news-wire. Information was provided to buyers for further processing. The broadcast was presented as a voice-over aired by the Nauen station. This press radio receiver is designed for the small frequency range in the medium wave band on which the official news material was sent. In the editorial offices, the broadcasts either had to be stenographed or there was a recording machine like a wire-recording device or parlograph.
