Desi Oon (Local sheep wool) has a special affinity for vegetable dyes. Catechu/Kattha, Turmeric/Haldi, Madder/Manjistha, Marigold/Hajariya, Pomogranate skin/Anar ka Chilka, Indigo/Neel are some natural vegetable dyes used by artisans to colour wool fibers, yarn and fabrics.
