U'u. Ceremonial club. A ceremonial club carved from 'aito (ironwood) into a bifacial head and long, cylindrical shaft. The top of the club is rounded, and oval in section. Each side is carved into a stylised tiki (ancetral human) face, with each eye being a small carved head. A cross bar is carved across the width of the top portion of the club. Loose strands of nape (coconut sennit) are wound around the shaft at the butt end. The 'U'u is dark in colour and has a glossy patina.
