Ubuntu Art at the Phansi Museum

Phansi Museum

Phansi Museum
Berea, South Africa

At the UBUNTUculture CENTRE (UCC) also
known as the Phansi Museum we have held on to our
belief in the uniqueness of African thought and the
concept of UBUNTU. Its ways of combining talents to a
common purpose. UBUNTU in the end brought the
oppressor to the negotiating table, and helped people to
survive with their identities intact.
We call the Art ‘UBUNTU Art’ because it has the
unique quality of healing, affirming and celebrating. The
best songs and music, poetry and dance flow out of stress
and that is their power.
