Float in the 1953 May Day Parade on Main Street in Moscow, Idaho. Depiction of Uncle Sam stands on a white base and appears to be leaning on or rolling a globe or ball. Uncle Sam has red and white striped pants, a blue coat, and a stovepipe hat with a blue brim, a blue band with white stars, and the crown of the hat is red and white striped. Uncle Sam has a white beard and seems to be dark complected. The ball or globe in front of Uncle Sam is peach and blue, with a curving black and white line down one side. A piece of red cardboard sticks out of the globe, possibly in the shape of a hammer and sickle. Blue text on the white base of the float reads in part "Lindley ...denbaugh", and "Peace not Pieces". "Pieces" is in red. The float is pulled by a convertible. A man is driving. Five women sit in and on the car. Three women are seated on top of the back seat, and two women are seated on the hood of the car. Behind the float, two men appear to be towing something. They are dressed in clothing that may be slightly ragged. One of them has a black mark on his cheek. Located around 102 South Main. Signs in the background include "Brown's Furniture", "Westinghouse Appliances", and "Ringlette Beauty Shop".
