Understanding biodiversity better

Native to southern Spain and northern Morocco, the Spanish fir is an evergreen tree. These trees were once abundant, but their numbers have declined drastically over the years. Conservation experts are trying hard, but the trees are still considered threatened in the wild. You can find specimens at Wakehurst on the left side of the path towards the Pinetum.
