Haluk Akakçe graduated from Bilkent University in 1993. After enrolling in the school of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1995, he transferred to the Royal College of Art in London as an exchange student. He graduated from the Chicago school in 1997. Akakçe lives and works in New York.
In his works Akakçe explores the nature of time and movement. His drawing practice, acquired through training in interior architecture, allows his intuitive energy to seep to the surface. He doesn’t choose to make a draft or sketches; rather his visual language explores dynamic and constant change and transformation.
