Sleeping on an empty porch with carved wooden pillars, Satyan captures a dog in a moment of calm. The dog occupies the bottom half of the frame. The other half of the frame shows a narrow alley, similar to an alley of an older city with dense housing. At the far end, two barely visible children stand, possibly talking. The composition is such that one sees the vanishing point in the centre of the image, giving a sense of perspective and depth. The photograph screams silence.
