Water-based Chinese calligraphy is a poetic and ephemeral activity in which large paintbrushes are used to draw the characters with water rather than paint so that the fleeting writing disappears within minutes. The activity is a popular form of meditation usually conducted in public squares and gardens throughout China. At Matarazzo, the artist wrote on a corridor floor. The performance was recorded on video.
