Details: In September 2011 we would see the appearance of WOOL with an intervention on 4 facades near the most emblematic and touristic symbol of the city: the Church Santa Maria.
This task was delivered to ARM COLLECTIVE, a duet formed by two known national “veteran” artists, Mar (Gonçalo Ribeiro) and Ram (Miguel Caeiro), whose work is characterized by a perfect symbiosis between a rather figurative and abstract styles.
That symbiosis and a great talent working with spray paint was used to portrait what was described as: “the current state of the textile industry”, a definite look to the (almost extinct) professions of shepherd or wool spinners, of industrial heritage, ...
Biography: The ARM COLLECTIVE arises in 2005 from the collaboration of two artists: Miguel Caeiro aka RAM (Sintra, 1976) and Gonçalo Ribeiro aka MAR (Seixal, 1974). They are exclusively dedicated to urban art since 2000 and 2005 respectively. With quite different styles (RAM practices a freestyler experimental and psychedelic graffiti and MAR works with figurative motifs, arising from his particular imaginary). They paint directly on the wall, freehand, which provides a very spontaneous and organic result in adaptation to the space of the painting / wall.
