Artist B. P. Paliwal was born in 1944 and graduated in 1967 from the Delhi College of Art.

His works depicted the connection between man and nature, the vastness of the earth, water and the cosmic universe through sketches in pen and ink and painting in vibrant watercolours and oils. Many of his paintings speak of the struggles of the mighty against the weak. He used water as the element to portray this concept.

It was a time when Indian art was moving from the idealistic to the commercial phase. He participated in 72 group shows and 3 solo shows in India and abroad.

His paintings adorn the walls of prestigious institutions, namely Lalit Kala Akademi, Sahitya Kala Parishad, Taj Hotel, Mumbai, AIFACS, Ministry of External Affairs and many other individuals like Dr Karan Singh and Shri K.K. Shah. He's the winner of several awards, including the Sahitya Kala Parishad.

B.P. Paliwal was honoured by his colleagues and his enthusiastic son, Shri Vineet Paliwal, who organized a solo show of his work, 'Milestones in Excellence' at Triveni Gallery in 2012.
