Born in Benin City in 1963, Ben Osaghae studied painting at Auchi Polytechnic College. He lectured from 1991 till 1995 when he opened his art studio in Lagos, becoming a full time studio artist. His works are known for his depictions of the realities in Nigerian politics and economy. His works are sketchy and can be described as 'Unfinished' but it gives the mind of the viewer room for imagination and interpretation.

In this piece, he depicts a middle aged man who looks tired and takes refuge in a seat. He thinks about his different problems as he stares into the distance. The artist as with his other works, renders this piece using rapid brush strokes and a variety of colours. The work is both rough to the eyes and to the hand but is a pleasant and thoughtful piece.
