Stuart Ringholt’s work generates uncomfortable yet often liberating scenarios.
Untitled (Clock) extends Ringholt’s interest in how life intersects with art. It is a grand over-sized version of a mantelpiece clock. Yet the tick is slightly too quick; an hour on this clock passes in 45 minutes, a day in just 18 hours. Ringholt’s clock condenses time, proposing shorter days and nights and many more yesterdays.
