Debora Hirsch (1967) approaches self-taught painting and follows some courses in visual arts at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. The artist is linked to the pop and hyperrealistic culture of the 1960s and 1970s. Her hyperrealism, not quotationist, witness of the contemporaneity, is heir to the experiences of artists "stars" such as Cindy Sherman, Barbara Kruger, Marina Abramovic, Jenny Holz. Like them, Hirsh aims to unveil the power dynamics and needs of global marketing hidden behind the seduction of media images.
