This work by Eva Lootz is part of a portfolio of lithographs published for the exhibition Madrid DF held in the Municipal Museum of Madrid in 1980, with the participation of artists such as Adolf Schlosser and Juan Navarro Baldeweg. The motif presented by the artist is a language that can be found in her other pieces of different artistic genres, including works, paintings, sculptures, and sound art. Eva Lootz, originally from Austria, joined the practice of so-called conceptual art in Spain in the mid 1970s. She is an artist of metaphysical, meditative works who always imprints her own characteristic touch in her pieces by not following the traditionally set guidelines in terms of techniques, materials, etc. This way she escapes these conventional limits, incessantly experimenting with her ability as an artist of being able to change the perceived conventions of reality and break through the superficial to arrive at the interior of things. Talking about her oeuvre, "my work is the solution to the impossibility of creating a piece: what I might have to say doesn't interest me a great deal … no center, no focus, I deal with a surface not a focal point."
