Los Angeles, United States

Los Angeles native, Tony de Carlo, was a self-taught artist whose work was inspired by “the mixing of culture and people.” (De La Hunt) Sadly, Tony passed away in his Savannah, Georgia home August 2014 after a short illness. His paintings depicted what he knew best, and what surrounded him in his daily life, often painting his friends, fellow LGBT community members, and men—either together or alone—homes, gardens, and dogs.
