"From the 1970s, graphic expression no longer competes with the painterly: the works from this period, regardless of whether they are drawings or paintings, adopt both processes indiscriminately, together with a diversity of media – oil paint, gouache, watercolour, ink, pastel, pencil –, or surfaces – canvas, wood or paper. We see a full and generous explosion of all the artist’s resources, a period of full mastery of his media – composition, form, colour, line, materials –, all taking place on generous, visually extensive surfaces (regardless of the size of the works) and with an inexhaustible richness of expression."
