Two worlds in comparison, only one generation. There is a parallel between the artistic research of the two young men (young both artistically and in age), born in places that are far from each both geographically and culturally: Rome and Cape Town. The visual work by Jack Fox depicts two characters hugging each other and presenting themselves to the public in a friendly way. He uses black and white to trace shapes, sometimes bitter traces, but that hold a strong communicative power. The artwork by TNEC is instead completely the opposite. Reality twisted has an almost architectural touch, it’s a spatial research and a reflection on how the truth can have different shades and may be interpreted differently. It’s a precise study on space and a translation of this thought in an artwork that is surprising for its aesthetics and modernism.
