  • Details: In August 2013 we were also at Cale Festival, a two day festival of street art held at Rua da Cale, in historic city centre of Fundão. For this first event of Street Art taking place here we invited PANTÓNIO that freely chose three spaces for three murals under the watchful eyes of visitors and residents , stirring interest in this Art and for Contemporary Art and Culture, an underlying goal specially in these inland regions with limited access to cultural events/ activities.
  • Biography: Born in Azores, Ilha Terceira in1975. As a teenager he attended the workshops of sculpture, modeling, drawing and painting at Instituto Açoriano de Cultura, and has exhibited regularly drawing and painting. Studied drawing at the School of Arts and Crafts of Cerveira Ville and Technologies of the Graphic Arts at Instituto Politécnico de Tomar. In 1993 he was part of the young artists group representatives of Portugal on the 50th anniversary of UNESCO, Romania. In 2005 he received the award for illustration of the Macaronésia for young artists. Attended between 2006 and 2008 in workshops Illustration by João Catarino; Editorial illustration by Richard Câmara and Comics by Zepe, of Fine Arts in Lisbon. In 2011 and 2012 he participated in the Urban Art Festival Walk & Talk Azores; in the residency ARTUR and urban artists collective exhibition, "Beyond Walls" António Prates Gallery. In 2013 exhibit a painting serie, in Lisbon, called "IR" and then "IRA". He integrated projects as Tour Paris (2013), which resulted in a solo exhibition at Galerie Itinerrance. In 2014 he has painted the biggest wall of Europe, and participated in Djerbahood project and Fusing Culture Experience, a festival in Figueira da Foz, Portugal.
