Belonging to his “Piling-up” series, Untitled (1986) consists of a partial, alternating pile of stones as actual objects and TV sets as virtual replacements of a stone. In these works of his coexist hidden humors and a unique, meditative ambience. This implies the influence of Lee U-fan upon Park, and Lee’s “the gap between nature and man” is being more concretized into the antagonism and harmony between the natural and the artificial and between the factual and the virtual. This is why one can read into a message about environment in this work of external neutrality.
