  • About the Artist: Brett Weston, the second of four sons of the noted California photographer Edward Weston, demonstrated prodigious talent with a camera by the age of 14. He was given his first exhibition at 16, and at 18 his work was included in the landmark 1929 exhibition Film und Foto in Stuttgart, Germany. Until Edward's death in 1958, the two Westons worked closely together, inspired each other, and often exhibited jointly. A superb technician, Brett Weston often printed for his father, especially when Edward became incapacitated by Parkinson's disease in the 1950s. Like his father, his primary concern was formal and his subject was the natural landscape, yet his interest in abstract pattern and design was all his own.
