Biography: Somnath Hore was born in 1921, Chittagong (Bangladesh). He taught at Indian College of Art & Draughtsmanship, Calcutta and Delhi Polytechnic, Fine Arts Department of M.S. University of Baroda, before joining Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan as head of Graphics department. He received the National Award from Lalit Kala Akademi in 1960,62,63 and Lalit Ratna Puraskar, 2004 among many others. Somnath Hore passed away in 2006 in Santiniketan.
