The fact that the insect, dragonfly which we've known since forever now could have so many diversities leaves me completely speechless! This mere creation of the Almighty with such intricate design and detailing, and with so many different colours, leaves me dumbstruck everytime I look at it!

A species of dragonfly among many namely the Scarlet skimmer also known as Ruddy Marsh Skimmer can be found in the native to East and South East Asia. The male and female of the species can be differentiated by their physical appearance as well as from their behaviour. The male is blood red in colour and is comparatively less lively to the female. The female one is yellow in colour and is livelier in nature.

The other species from the Libellulidae family of dragonfly named Rhyothemicvariegata also known as Common Picture Wings from South Asia is totally mesmerising. The colour of the very species is normally dark with a tinge of yellow in its wings, adding more to its beauty.

Thankfully, they're in abundance due to the conservation of the species.Hurrah!

Our all-time favourite insect, butterflies which leaves us awestruck every time we look at them. They can be of so many different types, be it in terms of their colours, designs, habitat, detailing leaves us mesmerised everytime we look at them.

The three that specially caught my attention during my visit to Eco-Park Butterfly Garden are namely, Plain Tiger, Blue Tiger and Common Tiger. The plain tiger species is also known as African Queen, a medium sized butterfly, widespread in Asia,Australia and Africa. It inhabits a widevariety of habitats, although it is less likely to thrive in jungle like conditions.

The next species named Blue tiger, or Tirumala limniace is a butterfly found in South Asia and South East Asia. The species is a mixture of different dark shades which adds to its beauty, the dark areas on the wing surfaces are the heat absorption areas that allows for the facilitation of autonomous flight.

And the last one named Common Tiger, or Danaus genutia is also known as Stripped Tiger in India to differentiate it from the Plain Tiger, or Danaus chrysippus. It is distributed throughout India, Srilanka and Myanmar and is extended to SouthEastAsia and Australia.

As the wings of the butterfly depends upon the body of it, similarly the whole butterfly kingdom depends upon flowers. The Eco-Park Butterfly Garden (Gate 6) shows this to us wonderfully. The place has a highly developed conservation technique of butterflies. Each butterfly are monitored and is tagged as per their gender and has the individual number written on their bodies, which makes them easy to detect. The place also has labs with scientists who research about each butterfly and studies their behaviour, design, habitat and more.
