French graffiti artist TILT contributed this flag-themed work on his visit to Nuart in 2014. It mixes the image of the Norwegian flag with the traditional aesthetics of graffiti throw-ups.
Born in Toulouse in 1973, self-declared graffiti fetishist TILT began learning the trade as a youngster roaming the streets and riding the trains. The artist is a proponent of showcasing that primitive graffiti can be just as powerful as complicated 3D-lettering, wild style and characters. Per classic graffiti ideology, his uniquely styled name is the focal point of most of his paintings, which is a bubble letter throw-up in TILT's case. The artist frequently takes an anti-aesthetic approach to his work, engaging with the role of destruction and disintegration as art. Tilt's wall paintings reflect an ongoing interrogation of urban space and the codes of this nocturnal underground culture.
