  • Details: WOOL – Covilhã Urban Art Festival, that merged in 2011 in Covilhã, for various reasons beyond our control, didn’t get more support or funding for a second edition, so obviously we searched for other geographies, new projects and new formats. The first place that welcome us was LXFactory in Lisbon (as Rua Rodrigues Faria, 103 – www.lxfactory.com), undeniably the most creative and artistic center of the capital, which was installed in an old flourmill and later printer industry, a place filled with old and gray facades. This piece is one from the 5th edition of WOOL ON TOUR, but could be just one of the many you can find the streets of Lisbon, by Tinta Crua.
  • Biography: TINTA CRUA is part of the new Lisbon scene, full of talented street artists who their creations on all surfaces of the city, but also on available legal public spaces as Galeria de Arte Urbana (GAU), WOOL , the cultural department of the municipality of Lisbon, in order to channel his extraordinary creative artistic energy. One of his specialties among others is the paste up, or wild paste up. The method of sticking a piece made on paper, reproducible in large quantities, on a wall, a window, or a facade, reveals a urban communication strategy. A message seeking to attract the attention of anyone who passes by. Tinta Crua offers his personal interpretation and very committed to the complexity of our contemporary world. The world of Tinta Crua is filled of romance, poetry and dreams, its messages are universal and lead to questioning. The work of Tinta Crua is immediately identifiable among others, which makes him a complete artist. His most recurring images are his female characters, fish, birds and famous self-portraits, usually accompanied by a phrase or a single word. The artwork and activism of TINTA CRUA struggle for some freedom of expression and the right to individualism against repression and consumerist and political propaganda of our society.
