Yanhan (1916-2011) is from Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province. From 1935 to 1938, he studied Chinese and Western painting in National Hangzhou Art College. He graduated from Luxun Art College in Yan'an in 1938. From 1939 to 1942, he traveled along the front line of Taihang Mountain as a military painter. He has taught in Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, North China University and Central Academy of Fine Arts. He has successively served as the National Committee member of the Chinese Federation, the first and second directors of the Chinese Artists Association, the third and fourth executive directors, the vice-chairman of the Chinese Print Artists Association, and the Honorary Advisor of the World Society for the Promotion of Chinese Arts. He was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award" by the Chinese Artists Association and the Chinese Printers Association (1991). His works have been exhibited in more than 20 countries and regions, including France, Germany, the United States, Japan and Italy, and have been collected by famous museums and art galleries. His representative works include "Victory Crossing the Yangtze River" and "surprise attack on Yangmingbao Airport". His published Biography of Yan Han, Collection of Yan Han's Chinese Paintings, Research on Yan Han, etc. In 1990, the Yanhan Art Museum was established in Lianyungang.
