Aureli Ruiz (1959) is an artist who, after passing through the Art School of Tarragona, made herself with effort, dedication and will. The work of this artist is created with both method and sensitivity, in a balance where procedure defines and draws morphological, dreamy and ultraplastic shapes. From the media, asbestos, to the definitive result, the picture becomes a flat object with acrylic and glue, applied slowly to make an new textural and pictorial surface, which maintains the richness of the media. According to the artist, “the work must always transmit; it has a device that not even the artist knows, and which, after a time, will ignite. When you are content with a piece it is because something transcends”. 25th Tapiró Painting Award, 1985 Art Biennial.
