Description: Fernández untitled mixed media piece demonstrates international influence from postwar collage and bears a similarity to the work of Robert Rauschenberg with the jarring juxtaposition of appropriated imagery. Layers of grates, collars, and other machine forms occupy two-thirds of the circular board. To the left of the center, an image of two bound and blindfolded prisoners, guarded by a military officer, provides a compelling social commentary.
