Diego and Frida divorced at the end of 1939. Diego was asked by the architect Timothy Pflueger to create the "Pan-American Unity" mural, composed of 5 panels. It was exhibited at the Golden Gate International Exposition and is currently on display in the auditorium at City College in San Francisco.
