Ship model of the Destroyer U.S.S. BAINBRIDGE, DD-246. Large wooden ship model of a two-masted steam ship with four smoke stacks. This is most likely the model sent to President Roosevelt in November 1933 by Raymond Fitzgerald. Mr. Fitzgerald was then a prisoner in Sing Sing prison in New York and said he had "made each and every part of this model by hand during recreation periods at the prison." In 1933 this ship model sat on the fireplace mantle in the White House Residence Study. Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library Museum Collection.
