Journey through time along the legendary Great Silk Road
With its advantageous location in the very heart of Asia, Uzbekistan once formed the backbone of the Great Silk Road between the East and West. And as the history-spanning Uzbekistan Pavilion shows, the nation continues to connect hearts and minds between those cultures today.
The pavilion’s three striking cylinder-shaped structures symbolise the ancient Uzbek cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, each one a vital (and still thriving) stop along the Silk Road. As you travel the twisting path between them, you’ll journey not just through Uzbekistan’s history and culture, but also into its bright future – complete with demonstrations of Uzbek innovation, such as a customisable cartoon film you can star in yourself.
