Vajravarahi

Vajravarahi, shown at center, is surrounded by seven more yoginis of different colors. Of these the white form represented at the bottom center also has a sow’s head projecting from her own. The three teachers depicted at the top of the painting reveal that it comes from Bhutan and the Drugpa Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism. The most distinctive element for this attribution is the teacher at the left, who wears a dark-blue hat with red and gold trim that is reserved for the Je Khenpo, the senior religious hierarch of Bhutan.
