This ceramic female figurine fragment is made of yellowish clay, which is smooth, rough, and incised. The fragment is an example of a "Venus" of Valdivia piece. This culture made many female figurines representing unique individuals. This fragment is the upper half of the figure with an elaborate inverted U-shaped headdress. Also shown are eyes, a mouth slit, a chin in relief, and a modelled chest with breasts. This piece is one of the oldest in the collection.
