Henry Woodbridge Parton was born in Hudson, NY in 1858.
Parton’s artistic training began under his older brothers Ernest and Arthur. In 1876, he traveled to Paris to study with the painter Eugene Petit.
In addition to painting, Parton was a rug designer. He worked as the head designer of Alexander Smith Carpet Company in Yonkers, NY from 1876 to 1913. Many of his rugs featured floral designs.
As a painter, Parton’s works included portraits as well as landscapes.
